Fred Howell
Vice President & Chief Financial Officer
As vice president and chief financial officer of PEI, Fred Howell is responsible for the oversight of all financial transactions of the firm’s entire portfolio including the maintaining and assuring the integrity of approximately 30 separate general ledgers. His responsibilities include reviewing the nature and propriety of all charges, reconciliations of accounts, fixed assets classification and depreciation calculations, year-end closing activities, and tax preparation. Fred is the liaison with the CPA’s for audit and tax purposes. Additionally, he is responsible for the maintenance of equity accounts for approximately 125 partners for the various partnerships, and annual review of the employee profit sharing plan calculations.
Fred has over 35 years of experience including previous positions in the manufacturing and service industries as well as the audit agency of the Department of Defense.
A former certified public accountant in the State of Michigan, Fred holds an MBA from Wayne State University (Detroit, Michigan) and a BA from Michigan State University.
